Inside the Passport

Remember what the learner showed you.

An observation records a specific learning moment: what the activity was, how the learner responded and how much help they needed.

The detail behind progress

Lesson Observations capture everyday learning. Cycle Observations bring together the selected activities for that cycle.

An activity may be demonstrated independently, with a little help or with more support. Earlier help remains part of the history as learning develops.

When an instructor records a Lesson Observation during a class, it is still a lesson record. Attendance is kept separately so being present is not confused with demonstrating a skill.
